Cohort 1
Mentorship for young professionals awaiting to join workforce/ or already in workforce.

Tailor-made mentorship for organization staff (government departments, civil society organizations, private sector).
Mode of Delivery
Online Sessions (Microsoft Teams/Google Meet)
Interactive virtual classes conducted through Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, enabling live learning, discussions and collaboration.
Group Work Sessions (Blended)
Collaborative group sessions combining in-person and online participation, allowing learners to work together, share ideas, and complete activities effectively.
Individual Engagement (Blended)
Mentor-mentee engagement during & beyond the Mentorship Session
Duration
3-hour sessions per day, delivered over a period of 15 session days, totaling 45 contact hours. The sessions may be scheduled on non-consecutive days, depending on the programme schedule. For effective mentorship we will have a class size of 10-15 Mentees.
Lead Mentor
Dr. Nzomo Mwita, PhD, FeHSM
Dr. Nzomo is a Global Senior Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Specialist/Trainer with over 30 years of experience in MEL and Capacity Building. Highly experienced in designing and institutionalizing MEL systems and MEL training. Expertise spans multi-country program evaluations, performance monitoring, research leadership, training and capacity building, proposal development and resource mobilization.
Dr. Nzomo Mwita, PhD, FeHSM, is a highly accomplished Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) specialist with over 30 years of experience supporting governments, development partners, international NGOs, and donor-funded programmes. He is widely recognized for his expertise in designing and institutionalizing monitoring and evaluation systems, conducting multi-country evaluations, strengthening organizational capacity, and promoting evidence-based decision-making.
Throughout his career, Dr. Nzomo has held senior leadership, advisory, and academic roles, providing strategic guidance on performance monitoring, research, adaptive management, proposal development, and resource mobilization. He has worked with leading organizations including Living Goods, Amref Health Africa, Dexis Consulting Group (Leading MEL for USAID Mission Organizational Development Support Program), and the Danish Association for International Cooperation (MS-TCDC), while also serving as an Adjunct Lecturer at Strathmore University, Amref International University (AMIU), and the Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI).
As Lead Mentor, Dr. Nzomo brings a wealth of practical experience, academic excellence, and a passion for developing the next generation of monitoring and evaluation professionals. His mentorship equips learners with the knowledge, tools, and real-world perspectives needed to design, implement, and evaluate high-impact programmes across diverse sectors.
Dr. Nzomo has over three decades of professional experience leading monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) initiatives across Africa. He has held senior leadership and technical positions with organizations including Living Goods, Dexis Consulting Group, Amref Health Africa, and the Danish Association for International Cooperation (MS-TCDC). His expertise covers MEL systems design, programme evaluation, performance monitoring, organizational capacity strengthening, proposal development, research, and adaptive management for governments, international NGOs, and donor-funded programmes.
A respected educator and mentor, Dr. Nzomo serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at Strathmore University and the Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI), where he teaches monitoring and evaluation within postgraduate and executive programmes. He has also lectured at Amref International University and the United States International University–Africa (USIU-Africa), while supervising postgraduate research at several leading universities in Kenya. His teaching combines academic excellence with extensive practical experience from the development sector.
Dr. Nzomo has provided technical consultancy services to numerous national and international organizations, including USAID-funded programmes, the Kenya School of Government, the University of Nairobi, Emory University, and several County Governments in Kenya. His consultancy work focuses on developing MEL frameworks, conducting evaluations, strengthening institutional capacity, and training professionals in results-based monitoring and evaluation systems.

Certification
A certificate of participation will be issued to each mentee upon successful completion of the Mentorship Course Units. The certificate will formally recognize the mentee’s participation, engagement, and commitment throughout the mentorship programme and will serve as evidence of completion of the prescribed mentorship sessions and activities.
